Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
- História e Economia publishes articles on financial history, economic history and the history of economic ideas.
- We accept book reviews.
- The journal publishes papers according to their approval by the editorial board.
- The manuscript submitted to the journal should be original.
- We welcome articles in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French.
- The originals must be edited in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice ou RTF.
- The figures, tables and graphics should be included in the file containing the article. In case the original figure, table or graph was created in a program different from MS Word, we must receive a separate file containing the object in its original format.
- We must receive an additional file with the name of the authors, complete mailing address containing the institutional affiliation, position, title, phone number and email address. We request the author to include the title in its original language as well as its English translation. In addition, the author should enclose an executive summary in the original language and in English. The executive summary and the English translation should not exceed 150 words.
- The references must be detailed and complete. Historical data and tables should specify the sources used. In case of original/ primary sources, the author must provide all the relevant information. The article should have between 20 and 40 pages, letter size12, Times New Roman, spacing 1,5, abstract / abstract, 3-5 keywords and a biography at the end. References should be in the body of the text and not in a footnote, for example: (Ramos, 1990, 12)
- Only the articles that meet the above requirements are submitted to the Editorial Board.
- The submission of a manuscript to us implies authorization for future publication by its author. No royalties will be paid.
- História e Economia will send a email to the author. In case of approval, some changes may be suggested.
- The journal will keep the originals.
