Novíssima dependência e desenvolvimentismo nos governos do Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT)

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to reflect on dependence and development in the analysis of the governments of the Worker’s Party (2003-2016). While recognizing the social and economic advances of the period, the core idea is that the boldest alternative state policies targeting development were restricted by the emergence of what will be presented as the newest dependence. The text is divided into four parts, besides the introduction: in the first part, the theme of dependence is picked up in light of Cardoso and Faletto’s approach, seeking to distinguish the newest dependence; in the second part, the focus turns to on the so-called developmentalism of the Worker’s Party governments and to the political crisis; in the final considerations the main ideas are summarized.
