Abstract
In this paper, we seek to outline the evolution of Brazilian Agrarian History, using the contributions of numerous specialists in economic history who have produced a rich debate on the origins of Brazil's social and economic formation. Successive generations of researchers have been trained, accumulating knowledge, absorbing international influences, and broadening the limits of understanding of the agrarian issue in Brazil. In the second part, we will focus our attention on analyzing the impact of technical and methodological innovations made available using Historical GIS and their relationship with Agrarian History. Our goal was to bring together, in addition to a specialized bibliography, a methodological approach based on the spatialization of information from historical sources, through an exchange with geography.
