O volume de crédito no Brasil entre 1996-2007: um estudo sobre os fatores

Abstract

This article shows the evolution of credit in Brazil during the years 1996-2007.This time is divided into three four year periods, with the first two characterized by the stability of the volume of credit and the last one by the consistent increase of this volume. Some considerations are made about the causes of these outcomes, focusing on national and international crises and regulations adopted by the financial authorities. In the second part of the work, we discusses the history of financing business in the same period, with attention to the main forms and alternative instruments utilized.
